If I make Changes to On-Site - How Long to See in SERPS?

If I feel that a significant contributor to my rankings is due to an onsite issue, and I CHANGE that issue, how long do you think it will take to show up in teh SERPS?

So, if it was indeed an onsite issue and I change it, how long will it take to show a reaction to my action?

It would probably depend on how often Google crawls your website. A static website may only get crawled every once in a while. Meanwhile a frequently updated website may get crawled every day. Once Google crawls your site, your should see a change in rankings within a day or two. If your site is somehow penalized, this could take much longer.

My limited personal experience tracking this very thing is that, on the average for my site, it has generally taken weeks, not days, to see on-page improvements reflected in the rankings.

SERPS will display as soon as google will re index it again. It may take 1week to 1 month for google bot to visit your page again.

just had a problem with my website, doing that thing. I made a change (linked to a search on Googel "site:mysite.com") and after the change was indexed, I dropped like 20 pages on Googel. :( How can that happen? Is it "illegal" to link to site:mysite.com on Google search?

As a general rule, if something is listed don't change it and don't tweak it unless you discover a grave mistake in title or such.

I tried to split pages into more pages and the result of it didn't give me as good search results as in the first long page.

It almost felt like being punished for entering duplicate content although I cut the old content out.

Anyway, I am not quite sure what changes you are talking about.
    A lot depends on it.

    Sorry,
you said exactly what change your made.

I think the link you created was not a good one.
Better find out next time if such a link is allowed.

There is a way to ping google to let them know that you have made changes on your site. I found this very effective when I want to get re-indexed.

Try this, it has worked for me.

i've found submitting a sitemap works rather fast for my low competition keywords anyway, which fluctuate from time to time as it is without me doing anything.

Times vary depending upon how often Google caches your site. It will be a shorter time if the page you have amended is your homepage, internal pages are indexed less often

First of all....no one can exactly tell you the time in which any SERP changes will be visible. It depends on various factors such as competition on the particular keyword you are focusing on, site structure, off-page optimization, quality of your site etc. You must continuously work on your site to see yourself in rankings.
