Try adding ads after the title of the post, and try different colors.

CTR has more to do with where your visitors come from than anything else. Where did those 5,000 visitors come from? Generally search engines give the best CTR, but related links do just as well if not better. Any type of social media does horribly. You also have Entrecard, any of those members probably won't click.

Check this thread on DP. You need good positions and psychological good colours for your advertisements. That's the only way to boost the CTR.

Something isn't right. 5,000+ visitors a month and you aren't earning anything?

What's the source of traffic? If you are receiving junk traffic, that might be a possibility. Try to bring traffic from better sources. But 5000 visits and no clicks is still strange.

Traffic is what you need at this moment.
Place the ads in a position where it will get the attention of the visitors.

If your main source of traffic is from sites like Digg, Stumbleupon etc then I am afraid they do not add to your CTR because click through rates from social bookmarking sites is nearly zero .

You need to optimize your site for search engine traffic . They offer the best click value and they are free too ;)

Aslo try to put CPM ads from other networks and they can at least get you over $1 for 1000 imps depending upon geographic location of your visitors .

Well I can only find 1 ad unit located right on top. Try to spread the ads around. You are allowed to have max 3 ad units. Try to place 1 at the right column and the other two somewhere near the middle. See whether this helps.
