@michealpowers Excellent list and I have one more suggestion that I see you and I and some others are doing:

Add your 'list' or 'tool collection' link to your signature in forums.

Those are the links that get bookmarked.

- put your link in forum signature.
- exchange links with high pagerank blogs and sites.
- write articles with your link included.

I think they should work for you. Just need to give it time.

Yup that is definitely a good thing to do. I have tried tons of different kinds of links in my forum signature and I see that lists and tool collections get the most clicks.

I realize not all of them are new to everyone but they are still new to a bunch of people. Can't make everyone happy but I try It is a good reminder for some who forgot these tips.

Yup forum posting to get backlinks works as well. I wouldn't do it solely to just get traffic because you won't get a whole lot but it is good to get a bunch of backlinks which in turn can eventually help your PR.
