Hi guys, Let's say you have a merchant account. is there any way to set up chargeback blocker or some other features? do most of the companies offer this? Thanks
If you accept credit cards on a merchant account you will have to be prepared to deal with chargebacks. If you're worried about chargebacks and are thinking along the lines of PayPal type payments then be prepared for chargebacks. Moneybookers don't allow chargebacks.
There is no way to avoid chargebacks, its part of business. As mcfox said,if u want less chargebacks u can use MB.
The problem is that customers want protection. Visa and Mastercard are so popular partly because people feel safe using it. There are definitely people who game the system, and make things difficult for anyone who gets scammed by them, but when you take away people's protection, they find somewhere else to do business.
It depends on the type of business. For the most common businesses, I guess it is unavoidable. In specific cases, if you have a business that involves higher payments (eg international travel), there are workarounds that I have seen being used by the merchants. One of those is to insist on fax confirmation with signature that the tickets are received and acceptance that it is non-refundable, etc.
