Your right I did not think about that. I was compromising his work ethics. He may not have liked high fat foods from Burger King.
I don't know how it is up in Canada, but I did a food drive with my church on one Friday afternoon in late July this year. Essentially we had a little old lady that had called us after having surgery and she had no food in the house and her family was unable to buy anything for her. We went around town and knocked on doors telling them what we were doing. In less than 3 hours we had taken in over 900 items of non-perishible food as well as $40.00 that we were able to use to buy "necessities". Not all of the items went to the lady, but we gave her about a months worth of food and the rest was given to other people that were going hungry.
Of course. Anyone that asks for help, deserves some form of human kindness. Any one of us could be in that same position at any time. I just see the difference between the panhandler and the homeless. Yes, the local level is the best place to start. We have an organization in one of our communities that is called TLC. They find homes, fix them up, and then people with various skills donate their time to aid in the fixing up. I'm fairly handy with carpentry, so I built a sandbox for one of the homes for the new occupants kids. The nice thing about these homes are, once the family gets settled, find jobs, get their kids in school, etc., they eventually make enough to get out on their own, and a new family eventually moves in. Its been rather successful over the years. Again, anyone that ask for help, real legitimate help deserves the chance to better themselves.
You can't even buy boons for a buck anymore. With the f-me-in-the-behind taxes on alcohol, not self respecting bum can get buy on less than a 5 spot anymore.
I told the bum not to waste the money on food. But he insisted that he wanted it for food. In the hood you can get the pint bittle of wild irish rose for a couple of dollars. A can of Bud in a grocery store is New York is something like $2.50. Taxes are crazy.
put them into slave camps and beat the crap out of them daily. The homeless population in Los Angeles is absolutely insane and the government supports it I vote absolute no money or resources at all for them. It gives them the option live on your own or die I lived out of my car for 6 months so I know how it works.
I'm assuming that you are being satcastic with yiur ost but some people may take it the wrong way. In New York the homeless are able to collect cans for the 5 cent deposit and people will generally give them some spare change. There are some people that abuse handouts because they are lazy but for the most part the panhandlers are looking to get something to eat or a cheap bottle.
I learned a long time ago that Panhandlers or anyone asking for spare change, generally lives better than me. I still love the "need money for bus tickets" signs. Next time you see one, offer to take them to the bus station and buy the ticket for them. I've yet to see anyone take me up on that offer. Want to help. Give to the red cross. Donate to your local food pantry. Get involved with a community help or outreach program and donate time and know how in building homes for the needy so that they may get back on their feet. The people that really need help, rarely if ever ask you for it.
I agree. It sounds bad, but I never give money to people that are begging for it on the streets. I'll donate to places where I know it's going to actually buy food, clothes, or medical supplies. There was only one time in my life I gave someone money on the streets. When someone told me: "Do you have any change to spare? My family was killed by a pack of wild ninjas and I'm trying to get enough money to learn karate and buy a samurai sword to exact my revenge!"
I think that dude has been in every state saying the same thing. Is this him? Or Him? Maybe this guy? Or this one?

I seriously don't think I have ever seen a homeless guy from Manistee but 20 miles away in Ludington it is a totally different story I have seen a couple people with signs saying that they will work on your house for a place to stay last week. There are a couple Homeless shelters there but I believe they are full. -Chris
If that big three bailout is approved, you're gonna see a lot of union workers willing to do just about anything a crack head would do for money.
As web marketers we all know the story here. They're just positioning themselves in a better position to get more traffic to see their aff offers
