Which SEO Software - Checking SERP

    Hi,

I am looking for software (I am willing to pay up to $200 or there abouts) that will enable me to check the SERP of my website for my keywords and compare them against my competitors.

I have tried a few of the free tools on line and I do not find them very accurate.

    What do you recommend?

I have heard of that one a few times now, it must be worth a look at in that case.

    Thanks

For free tools this one is the best have you tried it?

I own every top dollar SEO tool made and when i just want to check rankings i turn to the free one, it's fast, simple and gets the job done before the others even finish loading.

    I have tried;

    • seo administrator
    • traffic travis
    • free monitor for google

They are all absolute utter rubbish. None of them report accurate results and the data is not even close to where I see my SERP on google when I check manually.

Rubbish, Free Monitor queries Google using your IP address and hits the same DC as when you manually look up the results.

So either you are signed in to Google when checking manually and getting personalized results, or you have spyware.

SEO Elite is a good tool. It's what we use.

You can analyze link data in a variety of ways. allinanchor, allintext, allintext.

You can select to analyze from 5 search engines or from your competitors own URL.

I like the "find authority websites" feature.

The biggest drawback is you need a fast connection because it takes awhile to pull all the data.

I like to combine SEO Elite with Keyword tools, find the niche then run SEO Elite to evaluate if a niche is going to be difficult to rank for.

SEO Elite is updated, and effective. But like any tool you still have to know what to do with it.

If you want to build a big linking campaign it will help you automate the process by setting up link pages. I do not use this feature as I do not run links pages on my sites, as I believe it is more effective to create quality content and approach higher ranking sites on a case by case basis.

SEO Elite also has a built in article submitter that works pretty well but does have it's share of "Dead Sites".

I also like Aaron Walls SEO for Firefox tool. This will pull a good deal of data for individual searches.

And yes it will allow you to monitor your own ranking based on the keywords you input.

And I doubt at this point Brad needs any more of an endorsement, most of his software is good.

Multiple queries from the same IP has a potential for problems with the Search Engines... but rules are made to be bent :)

No one tool is perfect, but Brad/SEO Elite got my money... and I've been pleased overall.

Google (afaict) cache frequently requested result pages.

You can add &num=99&start=0 to your request and you should see the actual current ranking. Most scripted tools use a query with a start-marker so they generally show the actual current rankings.

If you communicate about results with a client, give them the cached rankings,
that's what they see when they query Google Search.

Do you want to check mine manually?

If so i'll give you a list of 50 sites with 50 keywords per site (2,500 keywords in total) and then come back and tell me checking them manually is best.
