yup they blame my slow speeds because i live in flats. atleast the 20mb never drops below 100kb download speed.
Aye im with them. They say that I can't upgrade my connection because of where I live (it doesn't support cable...it's like the only damn set of houses in this whole city that doesn't). They are bad, I will be switching when the contract is done to someone better.
Try Sky Broadband. I also have that, but use it for uploads (since its faster for me). Once my damned contract with VM expires - I'm gone. I miss Telewest!
yeah virgin media is not in some new builds. between this year and next year both virgin media and bt are going to upgrade to new speeds. i saw in the paper vigin media wants 40mb to atleast 20% of the uk
Virgin media s*ck hardcore, i've had problems with them for years. but because my flat faces the wrong direction, we can't get sky tv and BT for just the net is pointless. We wanted to make a point and move all services. As for doing a speed test. I'll just tell ya that my speeds suck most the time and they've told me theres nothing they can or will do about it. Its just the way the net works apparently. My speed is supposed to be the top whack package, i'm lucky if i can get dial up speeds most the time. After almost 2 years of arguing with every single employee and managers they have. I'd just say. VM is possibly the worst company ive ever dealt with in regards of customer services. </rant> Now i feel better........ Another thing that made me feel better was the £450 they gave me off of my services last year because of all the complaining. EDIT: Added the image. My net appears to be not too bad today.
Yeah i got 10MB but i hate the fact they are using this new software to cap speed to a really low rate at peak times soo unfair man..
Ahhh yeah, the thing they don't mention anywhere in the contract (or at least they don't in mine) If you hate being capped, ring up everyday and tell them it's not what you signed up for. Take names and times that you spoke to people. Complain that iit's not what the TV ad offers and that the advert is misleading. If it is in your agreement, then thats just unlucky, because its not any paperwork we got through out door in the last 3 months. Otherwise, call them. Tell them you need top whack everyday and not when they decide its good for you to surf the net. Also threaten to disconnect . They might just offer you some money back. If need be, get put through to the disconnection team, they'll ask you what the problem is and try and resolve it for you. The last thing VM wants is for you to d/c from their services . Its worth a try right?

I'm on Virgin Media. I don't know how to copy the picture but I got about 9,900 for download and about 500 for upload. Is this good or bad?
