alt tags still work good??

Hi I wanted to check whether alt tags on urls still works good for SEO?? any ideas?

 

Yes it still works good. Please use the <alt> image tag and place the targeted keyword within that tag.
It is best to add images that are actually named after your main keyword.

Are you going to continually spend your time tweaking your site or are you going to build quality content and then work on building links and real marketing.

Perez Hilton's site is very average. I doubt he worrys much about SEO at all. And he has more traffic in day than most people making their own little cyber whatever niche sites will receive in the entire life of their sites.

Alt tags help people understand what is on a page when the image doesn't load in their browser. USE THEM!

 

I have tried to change all my photo with alt text same as my keyword.It really help boost my ranking in search engine.So,it means alt text do influence the serps....

 

The <alt> tag still seems to work well as long as you don't spam it. I found that the "title" attribute works great as well.

 

Technically it's illegal (in the UK) not to name your images as by naming them it aids partially sighted users.

 

If you name your image files well and use alt tags accurately you can get a good bit of traffic through google image search - depends on your theme of course.

This is what I mean by depends on your niche - celebrities/girls are always going to get a lot of image search es so it is definitely worthwhile.

Alt tags still work especially if the image is linked the alt tag works as anchor text. Read google's seo guidelines. Google encourages you to place Alt tag. However they suggests you to avoid,
1. Having long sentences as alt tags
2. Keyword spamming in alt tags.
