I have a simple WP blog... how (where) do I install the Google Analytics code?

    Thanks!

You need to put the given Google analytics code in a php file.

I think it will be located at the path something like this

    www.yoursite.com>wp-content>themes>your theme name>index.php or header.php or footer.php

    Hope it helps :)

Just put it right before the </body> tag in footer.php. That should do it.

first we have to make sure that you own blog and it's on a dedicated server that you can log in to any time meaning it must be a domain holder and have your own dedicated server.

Both of these addicts and create code

That's not necessary, buddy. You don't need to be on a dedi-server to use Google Analytics. All you need to do is to place their code at the bottom of your html codes, that's all.

Just place the code in your blog's body and you're done!

Tip: I put mine in the footer area. This way, the Analytics code is the last to load up on my site, which helps up with loading times.

Try using the Wassup Plugin for tracking visitors alongside Google analytics. I have it in every single one of my installs.

Wassup gives you instant tracking and all the information is kept private. Google shares your information with other sites relevant to your category to create an "average" of all their statistics.
