Google directory just updated

Wow, I'm doing better in the directory search than I am in the regular search.

 

And the hits just keep on coming...

 

grazzy: I think this happened about all most a week ago. I noted my domain seocompany.ca was in there for the first time.

Although I am a PR6 looks like I could be going to a PR8 unless submitawebsite.com has dropped down to a PR7. The PR on the Google directory is not more current than on the Toolbar from the looks of things.

 

So why dont you update your "pagerank update"-page then bob? Thats where im usually looking for updates

seoxperts: Thanks! There have been some changes since I have written them but it was a good learning curve. I needed some content for my site also. I am now so busy I have hardly time to take care of all my new customers.

 

what is the significance of G directory? How do i measure my success using it? Why both Directory and Search?

 

devbistro: One of the good things you can use the Google dir is to predict your PR. My english is too bad to explain in few minutes, but hopefully someone does, or search past threads.

 

devbistro: Google directory is like any other directory. You get PR vote and ranking weight from the directory links. ArticleFactory noted that some times it gives you a heads up on the PR of your home page inbetween the quarterly toolbar PR updates and this is true.

It is my opinion there is a real pagerank update every month and usually at the same time the BL update is done. When the update of the PR on the Google directory is done usually that GDPR is based on a more currenty real PR than the current toolbar PR.

For example after this update I noticed my site is listing above other PR7s and a PR8 which tells me that I "should" be a PR8 next toolbar PR update.

Seeing how we are into directories I will take the liberity to post a number of the top web direcctories. They are listed by price, free/price & free and by cost to get in and alphabetically.

rbucich: Here is one theory scale of 8 and scale of 11. The 8 GD scale can be seen in the source and is These 8 positions are cleardot.gif, 5/35, 11/29, 16/24, 22/18, 27/13, 32/8, 38/2 and 44/0 (pos.gif/neg.gif). The 44/0 is/was only used for www.google.com .

Some hold to a 7/10 scale.

But the best way is to look and see how is above and below you. This gives you an idea of what the value of your link is as far as Toolbar PR goes.

Interesting note. www.google.com is now a 38/4 and not a 44/0. Very interesting.

The first link Search Engine Optimization Inc. is a RP8, next down my site is a TBPR 6, and the next down it Submawebsite.com which is a PR8 also. Below those are 3 sites PR7, PR5, PR7. So from that you can kind of guess that SEO Company may be a PR8 or PR7. If submitawebsite stays at a PR8 my site will be a PR8.

I am guessing that they dropped and I am a PR7 but you just never know. So this way inbetween TBPR updates you can get an idea.
