    I think, it will not help. Unique contents help to get a good results in SERP, but no Page Rang. PR - only backlinks with good PR.

    Rumor has it, the PR algo is/has changed. Getting people to your site will help more than backlinks. It's being nick-named IR (Influence Rank).

    Makes sense to me, authority backlinks are way too easy to manipulate SERPS with. They still count but so do people and engagement time, I believe.
