ppl, I've heard Title Pages (the ones you get to first, with some greeting/intro stuff) kill website ranking. Is that true? I kinda think so but there is an ongoing debate with one friend of mine...

    whacha think?

    dzi,

title pages are rarely used in commercial websites - more art, music etc.

The thing is that you just need to optimize other specific landing pages such as www.somewebsite.com/index etc., because SEs look at every landing page separately.

You can use an intro page, but you need to develop many links for inner page so that the crawler from google or yahoo can index the inner page as well

Just avoid Java scripts and Frames on the Title pages and it should not be too bad

Thanks, guys! So is there sense in optimizing the title page at all? Or just the index? I mean it becomes twice more work, right?

You are missing out on some great SEO posibilities by having a title page, better to optimize inner pages.
