Adsense sofware added a lot of fake impressions lowering my CTR

    Hello,
i searched the forum but couldn't find anything related to my case...
this is the third time i notice something a bit dodgy about my stats: Adsense software is adding a lot of fake impressions to my stats.
my average impressions for this website is around 2000, but yesterday i found 4700.
the problem is that none of my other 3 stats software recorded this spike in impressions, and actually i had less traffic, according to both analytics and the blog stats.
so why is adsense software lowering my CTR on purpose?
    anyone had this problem too?

sorry for bumping my own thread...
but i can't be the only one experiencing this!
if that's the case it means that's a deliberate adsense action townards me.. but i don't see its purpose.
    anyone?
    thanks

But why are you worried about your CTR being lowered? Earnings are from clicks and not CTR

Definitely sounds strange... but it doesn't affect your earnings so you shouldn't be too concerned. File a support ticket.

    Hello,

How many ad units are you running on the same page? If you have 2 ad units you might be aware that your "impressions" might be double that "site visits" or whatever it is called in your visitor tracker.

The more ad units you display the lower the total CTR will be, but you might get more total clicks.

    Hope this helps

Yes that's bad, lower CTR ='s higher chance of being smart priced by google IMO. Atleast that's what I notice being in this program for like 5 years.
