In the serps, out the serps, in the serps...

The googlebot visits my site and indexes my pages... they appear in the rankings for a day and then dissapear apart from my index.

2 days later google will visit my webiste and the same thing will happen again.

This has been happening for a few week, when is it going to settle down so i can start getting traffic from search engines?

It is kinda annoying and i dont know why it is happening, anyone have an explanation?

    Cheers

could just be the change in datacenters.

I wouldn't panic- wait a while, it should sort itself out.

well it looks like a new site and is as far as google goes, so the GOOD news is google has found you :D

it will take a while ... probably till the next google update...

I also see from looking at the site as info:site-domain in google up (and looking at the links) to 17th May(ish) you used url cloaking so it will need a full update of google probably (probably even be 2 or 3 so the PR of back links kick in?) before it settles down.

A site i am interested in if it teaches my inner child to "fly away" during nightmares but will pm you about that :D

    First off, Interesting site!

Second- I'd say your experiencing a bit of "New site help" from google. I've seen it happen in the past with all of my new sites. (new to the index.) Start working on back links- you'll be just fine.

You may be seeing what is becoming known as an Oblivion Drop.

    Does that description sound familiar?

Thanks for the info, someone has said to me it might be because the freshbot is visiting my site, keeping it up for a day and dropping it, and that i need to be crawled by the monthly bot to get it 'permanently' in. What do you think? could this be the reason.

Also is the rank i get when i am in for a day at a time indicitive of what the serp placement will be when it settles down?

You will have to get in touch about it vagrant.... definatly something different and also fun to get into

Try getting your site into Dmoz and other sites with high relevancy- that will help you quicker than anything else.
