The Best Directory Software?

Ok what "is" the best Directory Software out there? - I dont want to know about various directory softwares that are out. I only want to know if there is a directory out there which has is:

• Nicely laid out,
• Easy to use,
• Not too cluttered,
• Has all the fundamental functions a directory requires,
• Has all the different catergories and sections nicely positioned,
• Ad's displayed nicely and clearly,
• A Payment portal for advertising customers,

Looks like a nice script but imo is way to expensive.

 

Only Directory software which comes to my mind that satisfies above criteria is PHPLD Software..

Ads displayed are more to do with the template your using, need to choose an appropriate one or having a custom one done.

Nicely laid out, you mean admin section or what the visitor sees?

Cluttered, as in backend or front end?

All lot of what your talking about seems to refer to layout, design, unless im misunderstanding.

But a script wont define too heavily your layout if your determined to have a directory look a particular way.

 

Phpld is the best directory script, which has both free and paid version.

 

Most of what you are asking for is not a function of the directory software but the template/page design. There are a number of scripts out there and most of them will meet your needs. The two with the most templates to choose from would be phpLD and eSyndicat. Both have free and paid versions, support forums and the things you asked for that are part of the script itself.

This is the correct answer this thread was deserving of. The illiteracy of the average DP end user is somewhat horrid these days, but you have definitely explained exactly what it is that concerns the initial question being asked.

 

You can look into FocalMedia.. They have a great directory software system (however a little bit pricey)...

 

Nicely laid out meaning what the visitor sees and not so cluttered on the front end for the user again. Yes its quite a lot to do with the layout and design.

I have looked at PHPLD however their templates dont look at all appealing... can anybody point me in the right direction for where i am able to obtain nice looking templates such as http://www.pmdstyles.com/
