what is the best alternative for .com domains

    I have got some nice keywords and i want to buy some domains but most of nice domains are already taken ( com and net )What should I do ?
    Shall I take an alternative extension such as .ws or info or shall I add an prefix such as thedomain.com the is not best prefix but maybe onlinedomain.com or domainforyou.com what do you recommend
    please share your experiences:eek:

    I usally just put one letter after or before the domain like game would be gamea or agame

    If you are just going to be a website that people will google and find them the domain name won't matter as much. If you want to have a business (or are doing other stuff besides computer stuff as part of it), then you might want to wait it out and try to come up with something that isn't taken because .ws or whatever looks sort of odd on business cards or promotional materials.

    In my opionion
    .org is the second best
    .net the third

    Country codes like .us .co.uk .de and such are also quite good if your business is locally focused.

    I want to get the domain for traffic i have figure out a website gets its % 25 traffic from one keyword which brings lot of visitors and i have tried to get this keyword but com net org names are already taken but they are not in use they are on sale for XXX$ if i take goodkeyword.ws when people search on the net ( google) the term goodkeyword or good keyword . is it possibe to be in first page for this keyword. of course when i buy this domain i ll work on it.
    is there anyone who tried this method? share your opinions and experiences please

    I'd stick with .com. Add a preffix or a suffix to your domain...

    Id say .org and .net are your best bet, then .info

    Normally I just try to add a suffix or prefix though...or even a mis-spelling

    Yup, .org or .net are best after .com. If it's just for traffic try to limit yourself to two short words for a .com domain.
