I was totally new when I earned $13. Hope you noticed what I said - "$13 in the first two days after publishing adsense." So, then I know NOTHING about ctr, cpc and nothing. And I even thought that $13 was pretty less I didn't pause my site for any fear over Google banning me but just felt that I should not earn from an illegal site. Again I have to say the same. Since I was totally new then, I didn't notice how many clicks I got. All I remember is I had 238 UV's visits. It was on April 2007 and I don't know how to check it back.
I know several people who actually gave up on google adsense because they weren't making no more than maybe .50 cents a month, I mean really, no one was clicking because they weren't sending traffic to their site, or not enough to earn more than .50 cents. $13 is a job well done because it's not easy to earn money with adsense. When I first joined adsense a few years ago, I only made a whopping $1-$2 per month. But this year I ended up earning around $800.00-$950.00 on average per month. It's far from easy but it can be done.
you are earning well.. but the contents are illegal and that makes it scary. you could get banned by google.
thanks for all who wish me and encourage me. But I dropped that website already and never want to start earning from an illegal content website once again.
And for those who doubt that I may get banned from Google just because I am having an illegal content websites, I have to inform you that, THAT website was the one which I shown to adsense team to create an adsense account. So they have already verified it. But only me is not interested in running such an illegal site.
So website have a stable traffic before you placed adsense. It is normal if that's the case. Now, i build $2 per day. Which is awesome. But you are just too lucky. or you are clicking on your own ads on different computer?
$13 off 238 uniques is both a great CTR as well as a great eCPM. If you are willing to sacrifice your end users a bit you can achieve an extremely HIGH ctr by placing your ads in intrusive positions within your content.... suffice to say this will not result in a return visitor unless the content you are offering is amazing.
