I have a site for a transcription service, a small business. (that is typing audio files to text). I am posting ads online on craigslist and backpage, and currently getting a few inquiries through search engine traffic. I am wondering if anyone has ideas on how I could get more business? Maybe I could optimize the text for more search engine hits. Thanks!

Have you already register at outsourcing web sites (such as Elance.com)? Also recomendition of your former customers and testimonials.
You may also want to create a FREE report on the importance of transcription services to coaches, e-book authors, seminar leaders, speech writers, lawyers, doctors.
