Based on the replies, it really seems to depend on what your goals are for you blog and how sophisticated you want to get. Blogspot is easy to use and set up, it's free, and you can forward your own domain to it if your concerned about having blogspot in the domain name.

A lot of the features associated with WordPress are likely related to hosting it yourself; which gives you more control. From what I have seen, WordPress has a better reputation and is considered more sophisticated.

use www.choseit.com works on wpmu, has loads of plugins, loads of themes and you can have what ever you like on there minus adult material and since its only like 3/4 months old you wont have to have a domain name that looks like a secret code:

afseed111blogname.wordpress.com..... wouldnt suprise me if that was taken...

I use Wordpress. Blogger and WP are equally good when it comes to SEO.It´s important to host the blog yourself and not use the free hosting option.By using free hosting you are not in charge of your content and can be shut down for whatever reason.Having your own domain name makes it look more professional.

I hate it when people link their personal sites instead of just posting in the forum. I'm reading a forum for a reason, mainly because I hate seeing every jerkwads blog being linked.

    That being said, 'yawn'.

It all depends what you are after. If you are not very tech savvy and need a blog for your personal use, then I would recommend Blogger. It is easier to configure and get going. If you need the blog for your business, the there is only one way to go: wordpress.org. This can be customised to be very Search Engine friendly. There are also a lot of great plugins and widgets to modify the blog to your specific needs, for instance All In One SEO Pack.

Both are good, but I used blogger more than wordpress..
The only difference with the two is Wordpress is using
programming languages such as PHP and CSS while
    blogger is more on html.
