Ofcourse free hosting is not reliable. Try to find the best pricing and value balance while finding your host

I am mainly looking for speed, i don't know much about hosting, because i see that some companies are offering things like unlimited bandwidth and disk storage, while some companies have limits and have higher prices. So i guess there must be a reason.

I mainly need speed, and not a crazy amount of disk storage or bandwidth, and ofcourse uptime, my current site is curoc.com and it seems to be having troubles with current host sometimes.

so is hostpug.com fast? there site is pretty fast, will mines be like that?

how do i know that a host is fast?

I agree with hostgator. Also check into Hostmonster / Bluehost (great support!).

Try posting in the Web Hosting Section of the BST.

There is no such thing as the best host. One host may be good for some, & someone may have a negative experience with the same host.

Expensive hosts in general will place less users / server because they are able to cover their costs, unlimited hosts have tons of users and block them at 5 - 15 % CPU .

I own a free host too but is not profitable and believe me i answered for free to all my users from 10 to 3 hours on average which is very good for a free host i think. I disagree with those who try to create a monopoly in web hosting ( hostgator - bluehost - hostmonster ) .

Small hosts must live too and there are many created by people that really love what they do.

Oh i see, so the speed is all based upon how many users are allowed on the same server

It's hard to say, but in my personal experience I have had a lot less trouble with Godaddy then bluehost. Godaddy has excellent customer service and they help you with all your problems whenever needed, even at 2 am :D.

I agree with you on Godaddy as they are always there to answer the phone. Though I recommend you back-up your sites as if they find something wrong they sometimes just reprovision without notice.

I've used both hostgator and bluehost. Currently I have all my hosting with hostgator and I recommend them highly. Always up, and the support has been excellent each time I've needed them.
