You'll do fairly well with Adsense as long as you have good traffic.

As for affiliates, again traffic converts, and you can earn a fair bit of money by selling football shirts/merchandise. Betting is another profitable stream of revenue should your country allow it.

You will get an average of $0.05-$0.10 per click(with exceptions) on a sports related website,I know that it is not a high amount but you can't expect higher amounts because this niche isn't that popular for adsense.

Well at least you can get a lot of visitors to your blog/website daily because the football niche isn't full of people who have SEO knowledge and that is a big advantage for you..

You can test various affiliate programs to see if they will gather any commissions for you, testing is the only way to see if they work for you.Probably some of your visitors are betting so you can sign up with online sportsbook's affiliate programs and they will pay you a % of everything your referral loses during that month. The commission is somewhere between 25%-35% but that isn't bad because any referral you refer is yours for lifetime. So if I let's say refer you and you lose $100 this month I am happy pocketing $25.:)

Try it out and see what works for you the best.

    Greetings from Croatia.:D

    Thanks this helped me allot.
So hmm, i will do this way, i will have for couple of months adsense to see whats going on and then i will move to affiliates if adsense dont bring em good cash.

Website will be located at www.hannala.com and slogan will be Ala Hann Sport previews or something...

Good thing is i know seo, but im so lazy to do seo with this betting niche, im not sure whats wrong with me.
I always want to do harder things, like getting on frontpage by word funny videos(im close, haha)

dadaas, I run a hockey site (basically a blog) and I get adsense clicks between 0.10 and 0.40.

I'm shooting almost zero with CJ. I think I'll try the betting route too.

I agree with this except the SEO bit. The sports niche has some very big sites and SEO guys. I used to have football sites and it was a competitive niche with low adsense earnings.

I have a number of sports betting related websites myself, and I wouldn't even consider using Adsense. Reasons: 1. even if you're an expert in SEO I doubt that you'll receive the kind of traffic that will earn you more than a few dollars a month with Adsense; 2. there are lots of sports betting products on ClickBank that pay from $25 up to as much as $80 commission per product. All you need to do is write honest, credible reviews, and you'll earn a commission every now and then for a few visitors a day. I will only use Adsense on sites which cannot be properly monetized with affiliate products (others might disagree, but that's my position).

A lot of what you earn from Adsense will depend on your sites quality score as well, so it's kind of up to you on what you earn.

I dont know whats the average earnings for a sports website. However everything depends on websites traffic and conversion. I would recommend you to try 10-15 days only adsense ads. After that period add only affiliate links and see which earned you more money. You can also use both (after you make these 2 test first)

If you have an enormous traffic then you could do both, otherwise Adsense will just do.
