Just want to say Hello, I am not sure what kind of affiliate programs are the best for selling. And I also would like to know if it is neccassary to create some kind of presell product if I am trying to sell affiliate products. Welcome to DP! The biggest thing to keep in mind is don't give up. This..like any other business.. takes a little time and an educational learning curve. If it was that simple, everyone would be millionaires right?
do allot of research at first would be the best advice to give you since it's hard to make money knowing nothing otherwise every moron with a computer would be doing it. Research research research to get the best techniques
Welcome Jbirdmanjr! Well there are may things that someone can learn in this business. Even the gurus are always learning. Start finding information in this forum first, try implementing them, make errors, learn, improve your self and implement other techniques again. Just give enough time and passion.

I would look for a hungry market with a problem to solve & money to spend. Having been a crazy buyer for about a year, I am looking out for me. Glad your here. New to DP myself, but not to IM. Would agree with all of the above, the "Don't quit" suggestion most. I would add that if you are trying to market as an affiliate, your job is to "pre-sell". Let the merchant page sell them. Our job as an affiliate is to connect with a group of people with a problem, then offer them a good solution to that problem. IM is a skill, just like any other skill, it can be learned if you want to. Good luck.
I wanted to add something similar. The idea of pre-selling is to convince the potential buyer of the credibility and value of a product BEFORE they go to the sales page (it helps if you own a copy of the product and if you're sincere in your opinion). In theory, then, once they've read your pre-sell text, they should be much more convinced of the reasons why they should buy the product without even having to scroll through the inevitable hype of the sales page (in other words, they should almost head straight for the buy button).
welcome jbirdmanjr, I would, if in your place, start out with selling services to people. You can find what services are being offered right here on dp by going to the buy sell and trade section. Why start out with services? You get paid instantly, no month or two weeks time to wait for a check or w/e. You can use your money, earned from services, to invest in some educational books on Internet Marketing etc. The money you earn can also be used to propel your business faster as opposed to starting out with no money. Even when your business is going great, you might consider offering a service. For some "play-money" you can use for buying domains and ebooks and stuff just an idea though eventually it's all up to you, greetz, jobic
