Hi, I have a network of celebrity blogs bringing in thousands of view each day and I need the forum members assistance in recommending the best method of earning revenue from these blogs? Should I be using CPM ads, if so, which? A recommendation from a celeb blog owner would be awesome?
You probably want to look at the audience you have in terms of their needs first - problems and/or pains, their desire to solve these problems and their willingness to spend money to fix things. Just a thought from a buyer of Internet Marketing products. People love FREE stuff. That gets ME interested as a buyer. I could care less who's promoting it or how fancy the ad is. My main concern is me, how will it help me and what will it do for me - me, me, me. I go for CONTENT. Good Luck. Dave T
I agree. If your blog is about, say, Ana Ivanovic (the tennis player), you can look at who might be interested in info (or pictures) of her, and then you can contemplate what their specific problems or needs might be, or what other information they might be interested in, and then customize your ads or affiliate products to address these needs or interests.
Maybe you can try adult ads. I think those people whose looking for celebrity are also looking for porn. This is an example of adult ads agency: blacklabelads.com
I think you should contact those huge and very famous celebrity websites for banner ads sales. you might fetch some good money by selling banner and text link ads, but your blog has to be good enough for that i believe. IMO.
Have you tried to optimize the Adsense earnings? In my opinion, Adsense should be performing pretty well for celebrity blogs unless the blog has low traffic. Have you tried to analyze the clicks on your site using Google Analytics? A lot time we can actually increase the revenue just by optimizing the placement without an increase in traffic. Good luck!
adsense but how about targeted blog posts... think of the mindset of the consumer, they love info about celebs and probably want to be like them so think mobile ads, iPod ads, celebrity fashion like ASOS.com netaporter etc. what about magazine subscriptions aswell?
Well, I had a popular Angelina Jolie site that I ran for a year - got tons of traffic but next to zero clicks on my Adsense ads. So I don't recommend using adsense at all, it's a waste of time. You have to think of it this way - who is the vendor buying the adsense ad that relates to your celebrity keywords? Usually there isn't much money with celebrities unless you're selling posters, CD's or DVD's, most of which have a lousy payout on Adsense. Also there aren't many affiliate programs you can join targeting celebrities. The best return for your time and energy will likely be signing up to run blogads or another ad network that a lot of celebrity bloggers use. To get some ideas you might want to check out what ads huge celeb gossip sites are using - perezhilton.com, go fug yourself, crazydaysandnights.net, those types of sites which are making good money from just running ads. Stay away from adsense. Dan
