Why don't Google re-design?

Discussion in 'Google' started by Whitley Journalism, Oct 31, 2008.

I've always wondered why Google continues with their horrible logo and colour scheme.

I know they're renowned for their power and search capabilities - not their design, but why do they feel they have to keep with that poor website?

    Can anyone enlighten me?

    Thanks a lot :)

Because what they have works, a simple and easy to use interface.

    I have a question:

Why don't you buy over google and redesign it?

Lol......the design is simple, fast and serves its purpose :)

I think Google's site design meets its purpose which is to provide fast searching. I hate search engines which have all these fancy designs which makes page load time slower so thats why I use Google.

Well, recently they changed their favicon... and I don't like the new one... the low-cased "g" looks like a toilet seat

Exactly...branding. Plus, I like it anyway. It customizes well, with their daily tweaks. As for the design, simple is easy/quick to use is part of what brought them success in the first place. They would be foolish to change it...ESPECIALLY with the way things are moving to smaller displays, such as netbooks. You need a simple page that fits well into a smaller resolution to be convenient there.

They dont need to redesign their site because the design is perfect:

    - simple design
    - easy to use
    - loads fast

Google is a good and fast website, and i believe that in them redesigning it; it may be slower in loading.

Please remember that people who have slower connections that broadband may have to wait longer with a new design.

Redesign would be a biggest mistake ever. People have got used to their design and that's the main reason they're using it.
