20x monthly revenue. I would sell in a heartbeat!

Not necessarily dumb at all. 8-10x monthly revenue is standard for most sites. Other factors such as work time, time to promote, cost to promote and ease of creation can make $9k a great deal in some cases!

I honestly think its dumber not to sell for 20x monthly rev. Check the sites forum, not many sites that get 20x revenue!

plus wallpaper sites are mostly illegal, most of them use copyrighted images that they don't have permission to distribute. It's only a matter of time before people start getting sued over it - so yea it could be a smart move, especially since adsense earnings aren't guaranteed and they're already taking a hit. I guarantee you that Google earnings are going to go down even further as they squeeze publishers to get back money to call it even - Google's losing money right now, so don't think they won't forward the loss to webmasters.

I would sell now. That's 18 months worth of revenue, and who knows where Adsense or ppc will be at that point. He can always start a new site and use the same techniques and roll that one over as well...

Why sell a site that is already established and is getting enough traffic to earn over $1000 a month

I would leave the site running
If adsense goes bust, there are other ways of monetizing the site

1200 per month is really not that much considering the potential of adsense and the site (from what it sounds like). My guess is that he hasn't had the site that long and can improve it.

Mooo....faten up the cow....don't sell her!

Adsense isn't going to bust anytime soon...The web as a whole is still in it's infancy....

assuming he DOES make 1200 anything over 10 x monthly profits is a good deal.

Who knows, in 12 months he might no longer be making 1200 on it and not garantees the new owner will.

Either keep and work on it to make more or sell and start something else.

If he makes $14000 a year from adsense he should sell it for 5 or 10 times that price. so anywhere in the region of $70000 - $140000

I think 20,000$ is a descent bid placed by the buyer and this bid is reasonable, if the site owner has some more plans and want the site to grow and has confidence on his plan then no need to sell or else it's a good deal anyways..

It all depends where the traffic is coming from and the amount of work he needs to keep that traffic and maintain the site.

I sold a site making about $1,100 monthly from adsense at $21K. The problem is that all of the traffic came from google and I was afraid about a penalization from Big G and all my effort thrown away. I sold the site, and I can see the new owner has imporved SERPs and is porbably making more money. But I have the money in my pocket now and I know I made the correct decision.

It all depends about traffic sources and work needed to maintain the site.

Well I could see why he may want to sell it now, when your confronted with so much money sometimes we make some bad decisions. But I would keep it, I would although consider the offer. However, if you look at this in the long term he has a better chance gaining more profit by keeping the site.

I doubt a wallpaper site 4k to 5k visitors per day can earn $1200 per month.
Because the image site hards to get click than article site. It only can get under 0.5% CTR and the site must have a good positions for adsense. If he can really earn $1.2k per month by the situation you said. I think he is the one of the best adsense publisher in the world.
Then, he can sell his site and build more sites as his wish.

DUDE! I would NOT sell that site! Think how much he would lose out on. I would just keep sucking up the profit. Improving the site. Getting more!

He should definitely sell it, adsense and the internet as a whole is unpredictable.

    20K is a great offer.

    And to the comment above.

Earning $1200 p/m doesn't classify you as being the best publisher, there are people that earn well over $30,000 per month.
