New Keyword Tool

I have been using a keyword tool that I had a programmer develop for me and have just made it public. I find that it gives me insights on the importance of less obvious keywords that I may want to optimize for.

As more and more searches use longer strings I found myself looking at log files which have hundreds or thousands of terms. Except for the top few obvious keywords, it was hard to make sense of all the others.

Here is how it works: You paste in a list of your keywords from your log files with the no. of times the keyword was used to find your site. The SEO keyword Engine tool then consolidates all the keywords that were used in the different phrases.

    The tool is at: http://www.seo-keyword-tools.com/seo-keyword-engine.html

I would be interested in any feedback.

From the description it looks like an interesting idea, and I can see the possible usefulness of it.

I wasn't able to get it to work -- only got back zeros on all input I tried, both my own data and your given samples.

I also have qualms about using keyword frequencies from one's own log files as if they were keyword popularity, from an SEO standpoint. It's rather like using your conclusion as one of your premises.

Thanks for the feedback. Wolfpack, you are correct that it "uses your conclusions" and I talk about that on the site. The tool doesn't replace other tools and methods it is just another way to find more insights. I just checked the tool and it worked it for me.

I am not sure I explained properly how to use it.
Copy from an EXCEL worksheet a list of keyword phrases in column A and the frequency nos. in column B. You can not use the example I have--I am not a programmer--but probably because it is not from an excel worksheet.

Here is what I copied (you can do up to 500 words--if you do more it may time out):

    calendar design 1825
    folder design 247
    מצגות 218
    flash 182
    מצגת 96
    newsletter design 66
    product brochure design 64
    exablate 63
    calendar+design 50
    internet 46
    web 44
    flash presentations 44
    brochure design 38
    מולטימדיה 37
    multimedia 32
    company brochure design 31
    web design 30
    עיצוב אתרים 27
    "calendar design" 26

After putting the list in the machine I got this:
    calendar design 1851
    folder design 247
    flash 226
    brochure design 133
    web 74
    newsletter design 66
    product brochure design 64
    exablate 63
    calendardesign 50
    internet 46
    flash presentations 44
    multimedia 32
    company brochure design 31
    web design 30

You can see that "calendar design" went from 1825 to 1851 because it added the terms both with and without quotes.

    I hope this helps.

    Ok, I see now.

    Very cool!

(And yes, you do have to C and V from Excel.)

I just updated the instructions to emphasize (in red) that you need to C and V from Excel or you can use any tab delimited text.
Crazy-Rob - glad you like it.
