need advice on what keyword selection tool to use

Okay, I'm a little bit confused. Some say its Google's Adwords selection tool, some say its Wordtracker, others say its Keyword Elite, etc.

I'd like to know what's your take on this. I've read that the Google keyword selection tool is only good in finding keywords for your Adwords campaigns.

I'd appreciate very much any advice on what really works and what's for free. :)

I use a program called Market Samurai which gives me way more than enough information to dominate almost any niche that I choose.

If you sign up for the www.ThirtyDayChallenge.com/challenge/34025 you can get a free trial to download and test the program for 30 days, that is how I started.

I use wordtracker when I remember to re up the subscription. The adwords tool is fine for most things but the results can be a bit skewed given their other ad related programs.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

I believe that Market Samurai is very similar to wordtracker but I am not sure because I have never used that program myself, only read about it.

Use Google's Adwords if you are planning for google.com. Use keyword suggestion tools of appropriate engines. Remember every engine also has it's own Keyword Suggest tool to aid it's visitors/users

    http://labs.google.com/suggestfaq.html

Which means search engines will drive visitors to certain keywords and increase it's concentration. It's necessary to make note of all the keywords that the "suggest tool" proposes. It's seen that the keywords in the "suggest tool" and the Keyword tool at Adwords are similar.

Use both. Experiment and analyze the result. From my experience, I use both tools. Don't limit yourself to one tool. It's just like carpentry, you need a lot of tools to get the job done and fast.
