HTML/CSS Free Editor

Hi,

I need to do a quick job editing a site coded with CSS styling (DIVs only, no TABLEs) and so I am looking for a Free Editor that I can use quickly.

Using my Dreamweaver 4 does not allow me to do that.

So, can anyone recommend a Free CSS Editor, that is easy to use?

Why do you need an editor? Can't you just use Notepad or a simple word editor?

 

What I mean is a Visual editor where I can immediatelly see the changes I make, instead of keeping reloading the browser for every minor change.

 

Best free visual editor is FireFox + Firebug
Seriously. You can do all changes and view it right in browser.
After that you can save modified code as html page using (again) your browser.

If you're on a Mac, you can use Coda.

 

Kompozer has some CSS capabilities http://www.kompozer.net

Not sure if it's what you need, but it's free and fairly easy to use.

The best I have used (for many years now) is HTML-Kit (for Windows O/S).

I'm using phrase5 on my normal pc and smurltron on my mac can recomend you both

 

HTML-KIT and or notepad!! ( I personally like both! But HTML-KIT does color coding, easier on the eyes! ) - Forget WYSIWYG... Do it the right way... Because the only way that you can truly see your changes is by viewing them in a browser and then some...

Try Notepad ++ it's free and has syntax highlighting

Or try PSPad which has built-in files comparator
