Suggesstions required to jump from Google page 3 to 1

Hi friends.One of my friends site is appearing on 3rd page of Google search results for one good keyword. He has not optimized the site or page for SEO.

Now, he like to optimize the page to appear on 1st page of Google search result for that particular keyword? How can he achieve his goal?

On and off page optimization is what is required. Check the backlinks of the site. Google recently updated the backlinks and many were dropped. Mine were dropped too. I have been checking my backlinks here, and slowly building them again.

 

There is a lot that can be done, but without knowing the phrase you are targeting and who holds those positions now it is impossible to say do this, or do that.

You need to compare his site to those currently on the top 10, then optimize to be better than they are. If the top 10 sites are all 7 years old, and yours is 7 months old, you could have your work cut out for you, which is why you need to analyze their sites as well as your own.

Get quality links Links that are related to your niche and are from high pr sites. Use your keyword as your anchor text so that it bumps up to search engine results.

Depending on the keyword it can take you some time to go from the 3rd page to the 1st page. But I agree with other DP fellows here that you need to build quality backlinks and do some on page optimization at the same time.

 

If the keywords are not that much competitive, it's not quite hard to increase your keyword rankings to first page.

 

I think also concentrate off page activities it's give more help for ranking in SE.

flatrox is right, I got one high pr link pointing back to one of my sites and it already has a few #1 positions in google and my site is only 1.5 months old

 

High PR backlinks from the text of some blog pointing to the page he optimtimizes, using exact keyword phrase in the anchor.

He should make links from several other pages of his site pointing to that pagee, again with keyword in anchor, maybe vary the keyword term a bit.

Keyword in title tag and then again in H1 tag.

Oh, this applies if he have a good, content rich page. Besides, if people will find it interesting, they will start to backlink.
