Stevens (R-Alaska) Guilty

    Republican Sen. Ted Stevens has been found guilty of corruption charges. He's now a convicted felon.

    I doubt he'll ever serve any actual jail time.

    He should resign right away.

    Very few members of Congress have had felony convictions. The last Senator was in the early 1980's. That guy stayed on for a while and was a drag on his party and his effectiveness, (a Dem from NJ).

    McCain and Palin are very wary of this situation. I'd bet they want him to resign right away. It does zero for their credibility. Read through their statements, if they haven't already asked for his resignation.

    The current "king" of pork is the single Congressman from Alaska, Young. That guy has supported bs bills for all sorts of sob's that raised money for him from anywhere in the country.

    Its a style of politics that needs to be cleaned up.
