    location, location, location - it is all about the geographic location there mate - some folks can afford to work for smaller amounts in USD as it has a better weight than there own currency.

    I occasionally use oDesk and the like, you can get research and data projects attended to from around $2.00, although an average for those types of freelance sites is around $3.33
