Hi Guys, Im intending on helping someone set up an online store. Its supposed to be a clothing store so now toying between a blog and a normal online store or a blog cum wordpress store. I've seen the sophistication of the shopping carts so thinking that a blog with a normal shopping cart site would be better.
claysmodelshop.co.uk is using a modded version of Market theme, just finishing the site off currently DD
I haven't heard of Markettheme and it's pretty awesome from what I'm seeing on their page. I've got 2 sites that might actually benefit from having this installed.. I have 3 questions for anyone who has a copy. 1) How hard is it to integrate the payment system if your selling your own products and want to be able to take credit cards? 2) If you have a product to be directly downloaded after the sale (if your selling software) is that easy to setup? 3) I see for affiliate sales you need to change the code. Is this just changing a couple lines or do you have to re-write a lot of it? ( I see you get a guide if you purchase it so not sure if that's going to be a headache or not. ) I'd appreciate if any who have a license can give me just some basic feedback on it as this one looks like a winner to pickup in the future. Thanks! Stu
Yes, you can set this up for free with the WordPress e-Commerce Plugin. If you want a free theme that has been designed specifically to work with this plugin, take a look at the Crafty Cart theme.
I'm looking for one too. Joomla is incredibly good - but the steep learning curve cause many of my clients reluctant to use it. Perhaps I'll try the above mentioned plugins. Thank tyler.
