What's wrong with this site??

Hi Guys,

I am the webmaster for http://www.beauty-learning.com/ I have tried everything to get this site into the UK serps for Beauty Therapy Courses, such as H1 tag on index page, good inbound links- (some my collegue is building), Meta tags, changing IP adress on servers, sorting out canonicalisation issues… I’m baffled as to why it is not listed??? It even has an inbound link from here http://www.m-w.co.uk? It's not even doing very well in .com for the keyphrase. I've even brought .co.uk and pointed it to the.com.. ahhh help please??

It's a very beautiful and simple site. Now, just start working seriously on getting oneway links to the site for your keyphrases. Also, did you run a "keyword density" check?

Try to build some more back links to it.

 

Is it anything to do withit being a .com??

 

How about putting a section for health and beauty therapy articles aiming towards your keywords. That would help

Just a few observations, have you submitted the site to g00gle co uk, do you use google webmaster tools ? have you submitted a sitemap there ?

Google is only counting about 6 links - none of which are anchored with Beauty Therapy course. How long have yo you been link building? You probably just have to be patient and keep link building. I don't think it would hurt to add London or whatever to your links to ensure google understands where you are. Also in webmaster tools you can geolocate a site I think. I dont think the .com has much to do with it - its more likely to confuse your customers who may think they have accidently found a US site

 

Yes you can, but if she used the .co.uk address instead of the .com then it automatically defaults to the UK.

 

Hi again, I have added this sitemap here: http://www.beauty-learning.com/open_beauty_sitemap.xml it still shows as pending in G webmaster tools sitemap area. This site has a CMS system and bascially the clients can access both http://www.lond-est.com/ and http://www.beauty-learning.com site from the same admin area.

If your looking to target mainly UK visitors, maybe .co.uk is best...

Your title tags are the same for every page.

This is holding you back with Google. Google would like each page to have its own title tag as well as additional meta data.

You should move all files to the same level as root. Placing them in the folder /content/ or /courses/ tells Google they are less important.

Your sitemap file should be sitemap.xml not the one you are using currently.

Also there is no correlation between Yahoos link count and Googles link count.

This should start you off on improvements.
