Hey there guys, I was wondering if stock photos from stock exchange or other micro stock sites are legal to edit. You know with photoshop and probably use in a blog post or logo design. I need an expert opinion on this.

    Regards,

Talk to an attorney if you need an expert opinion. Listening to the experts here will land you in court.

Stock Exchange just hosts the images, you will have to contact the artist that uploaded it, for special permission.

Maybe you should contact the person who operates the stock
sites and ask them this question?

The website you purchased the photo from should have the terms and conditions listed in the contract. I am in college now for graphic design and we purchase photos and manipulate them for posters, websites, and brochures. Contact the company not the artist.

well should not use them as they have copyrights on it. people use it all the time and get away with it. Doesn't mean that you'll be that lucky too.

Yap. I believe the best people to ask are the ones you bought it from. Most stock photos are for personal use only. There are some out there allowing use on a website but I don't think editing is allowed.

What kind of photos are you working on? There are a lot of free photos or graphics out there where you can edit. Yet again, if you are good at editing using photoshop, just simple take some shots and edit them to make them look the way you want them. Why buy stock photos?

Try not to take photos from there...I think it's illegal as they are usually copyrighted by the stock exchange websites.
