Multple ad units balnk and affecting CTR?

When I look at www.eslgo.com/learning/ or www.travel-plan-idea.com I see empty spots where ad units should be.

I think that these empty spots are still counting as impressions and ahve been told that the lower your CTR the less you get per click.

So I need advice. Should I stop trying to display multiple units/page?

    Hi Jim,

Here in the UK, when I look at http://www.eslgo.com/learning/ I see a nice 160 x 600 scyscraper with one ad and 4 blanks.

The ad (UK based firm) shown doesn't seem to be a competitor either.

On http://www.travel-plan-idea.com/ I see 5 relevant properly targeted ads (to UK companies).

    Regards,

    Noel

I appreciate that view from the UK. I'm surprised that Google doesn't have more ads to serve...

I still wonder if the extra impressions and lower CTR means less money per click. Anyone know?

    Hi Jim,

Just looked this morning at eslgo.com/learning and you have a full house! :)

Tried with the Adsense Preview tool and it shows 11 ads available to UK, and more to the US.

    Have you tried the tool?

Hope that doesn't get posted as a broken link.

    Regards,

I also have seen a full house on both - But in my own experience - I did have trouble with multiple units on page....

I reverted back to single units.....

Here, in Germany, you have a skyscraper, filled with 5 ads on travel plan idea. on slgo you got a skyscraper filled with 4 ads.

I got several problems with multiple ads to... When I got the time I will rethink the complete placement of all my ads again.

Multiple panels that are empty will not affect your CTR. They don'y count. If you set an alternate ad (like an affiliate link) you will at least not waste the traffic.

i have problems with multiple ads sometimes. All i have to do is refresh the page and they show up for me. Everything looked good for you when I looked though.

As for CTR rate being low affecting your payout, I had not heard that.

It may not be true. The forum member who told me this is probably not an expert.

My experice is that CTR does affect your ppc. I once had some problem with my server, my ctr dropped 50% and it lasted for 2 weeks. I found my average ppc dropped 30%. After that my ctr back to normal and so did the ppc.
