Hello to all, I am a SEO newbie and DP newbie SEO is very interesting and I have read hours and hours of different SEO tutorials in last weeks and now I have some basic knowledge of SEO. My question is that it is possible to gain high ranking on search engines without any SEO friendly content. I am building a free sports betting odds comparison service and my first SEO goal is to get first page ranking on search term compare odds (competition 378 000 web pages on google) Webpage uses heavily Ajax and the only content there really are sports odds compared from different bookmakers (check www.beatbookies.com) How should I optimize webpage to make it more SEO friendly. Should I create frontpage without any AJAX request with some text content or are high quality backlinks enough for me to get high rank (ordered already manual submission service to directories) Any help is much appreciated! Regards: Jari
I bet that it will be even odds that with content, you won't rank in Google. Just ask the Flash sites.
Quality backlinks is usually enough to rank any website. An unoptimized website may just require more backlinks.
Yes, agree. I have done an experiment myself. There are some backlinks targeting a specific key phrase and the content of the web page does not have that phrase. Yet I can still be able to get the first 5 in Google when searching for that key phrase. But it is not a really competitive key phrase.
I don't think it is possible to gain high ranking on search engines without quality and unique contents. You will need the right keywords for it and it's the basis that determine serp in the first place.
Since you don't have much content that can be indexed you should focus on quality anchor text back links relevant to the keyword you want to rank high on
Thanks for the information to all of you. I don´t know how much time I am able to spend doing SEO tricks so maybe I should order some SEO optimization package, which offers full-refund if not in top ten on my selected keywords. One of these service providers wrote to me: "we can get your site into the top ten even though you use ajax. It typically takes about 3-5 months to get your site into the top ten, and our guarantee states that we will get you there within 6 months or refund your money" This promise is for google top ten ranking.
Hi Jari, Your site is HOT right now at this early stage. Big "G" already has you at a PR 3 rating. Naturally, your traffic and backlinks are weak at this point but that PR rating is a money maker right now. Since you're open to suggestions, I have a couple. You've done well with this one, so unless you're married to it consider flipping it for a couple grand or so. Otherwise, duplicate what you've done with another site and savvy domain name and build some traffic and backlinks by joining a few social networks like facebook, and Digg, to name a couple of the hot ones. While you won't want to advertise there, you'll be able to hit a lot of people's hot buttons when you tell them what you do. You already know you're in a hot niche, so there's no reason to keep it to your self. You can also advertise to marketers who want to pay you to place their link on your PR 3 website. The current range is $20 to $50 or so per month... Let me know if you have questions. Ciao, DocRich PS I'll write an article to help get the ball rolling for you. Naturally, this would be complementary. I had lots of help getting started and like to pay it back when I can. All I ask is that you pay it forward to someone else once your IM income allows you to start vacationing in Maui
The answer is yes - if you have enough people willing to link to your site. But why not make it as SEO Friendly as you can. Sadly the world has plenty of online gaming sites already so your task is monumental.
I experienced that I will get backlink anytime I write a content targeting at specific keywords. I doubt if people links only to good quality content. They are targeting at keyword more.
Content is most important on SEO, If you don't optimization your websites may just require more quality back links.
