Is it possible to set it to only display image banner ads? I do not like the text ads.

    yes of course it's possible
just study your adsense account info
and be fully aware that your revenue will drastically go downhill by your reducing free competition
you may get nice pics in ads - but crappy products and low low $ per cpm or cpc

you may as well just delete all ads if you have difficulties earning money to spend money for useful things in life ...

It can be done. There's an option whereby you just check the "display image ads only" box when you create your new adsense code.

easy to do.. i've found that text ads tend to convert better on my site. i guess it also depends on your demographics and site contents to what is displayed.

    very bad idea
majority of high paying advertiser are text based ads
blocking text ads leaves a limited number of image ads and much lower $ for you
    = common sense
if YOU exclude free competition then you exclude best revenue for you

    never copy governments
let the FREE market reign the prices !!

I figured image ads would be more appealing, the text looks cheesy.

That's what I thought too. Then one day I decided to test text ads and my daily revenue doubled.

Everyone says that text ads do a lot better than image only ads. I think I have mine set to both so maybe I should change it to text only.

you can filter your ads while creating it, but i won't recommend doing it.. Image ads usually have low CPC rate..

    Change google_ad_type = "text_image"; to google_ad_type = "image"; will do the trick.

Test three Google AdSense banners, one with "text_image", one with "text", and the last with "image" (assuming you are managing banner rotation in an ad system rather than hard coding ads into your page.)

This way you can weight the one that does the best while periodically testing which is better. Text ads properly integrated into your website produce more money, this way would let you know for sure.

Unless you don't care about money, then image advertisements are more pretty (on someone elses' website.)

    Best,

    Justin

I get a much better CTR on 200x200 image-only ads embeded in the top corner of blog posts than I get with text-only ads in the same place.
On the other hand, the reverse is true for me with the 300ish squares in a navigation sidebar.

If you go to the Adsense Setup tab, then Manage Ads under that tab on the resulting page, and Edit Ad Settings for one of your existing units you can change it from there.

You're looking for the Format dropdown like the one near the middle of my attached screenshot. :)

It depends on your niche, sometimes image only ads do better than the text ones. Entertainment niche's seem to do better with images sometimes.
