Site Promotion - Finding it Hard

    Hey,

    Site - www.netwurked.co.uk

I am trying to promote my site and have been reading previous posts on this forum for advice. Most of the advice I have came across seems to be aimed at blogs. Most also suggest write articles and submitting them to various places.

The problem with my site is that the content is minimal, however some of the tools / information on the site is unique. Could anyone offer me some advice on how to get more traffic to the site?

    Thanks for any info :)

Content is unique? You have it all linked to wikipedia. How unique is that?

I am trying to figure out why you want traffic. I don't see any potential income there.

I didn't see the Wikipedia issue GotWebHost mentioned. I would suggest focusing on the unique tools. That is, focus on what you think users will be most interested in for your site. For example, on my new Gadget Advisor site, I have many news postings. However, I focus most of my effort on bringing attention to the articles I have written, because they provide content that is unique to my site, rather than information that can also be found on other news sites. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Submit your site to social bookmarking sites, and then build content related backlinks to your site.

Oh, jeez. I see what you mean. I can only assume he plans to put his tools up soon since the links on the left are not pointing to anything. As is, the site is indeed meaningless, with nothing unique or even any of its own content.

I maybe worded that wrong, some of the web tools that I have and are nearly finished are unique.

As for the income, I will be adding ads at some point and I might also be opening a members section which will allow people to monitor various services on there servers and will send them notifications when it is down and another few tools. I was intending to allow up to X services to be monitored for free then after that it would be a minimal payment after that. Also, if you use the whois tool and the domain is free. It has a referral link to 123reg.

All of the tools are up, if you look under the wikipedia text you can put in Ip address, domain names etc on each tool.

I am guessing I should remove the wikipedia text and put my own information about the tools?

How do you actually get to the tools? All the links seem to point to pages on Wikipedia.

you can try submitting your site to social book marks such as digg, that would help promote it

How much do they pay? And why 123reg? Are you in the UK or something? I think you are limiting yourself.

Can you see the menu to the right hand side of the site? If you click the items within that you should be able to go to the tools.

I don't think they are his tools. He is linking to other people's tools. At least, that is how I interpret it.

Menu on the right hand side? No. I don't see a menu on the right hand side.

No, all the tools are mine and have been coded by me apart from a parse for the whois tools which uses a GPL licensed script. Maybe the site is a bit unclear as to how to navigate to the actual tools. I will remove the wikipedia links and see if that make it better.

Article marketing would be perfect for this site since there isn't any content.
