for a hosting site, i'm been looking at the WP friendly ones like hostmonster, hostgator, lunarpages, dreamhost, etc; but for the life of me, i can't decide which is best. the features look about the same, and the service seems about equal at all of them. so that leaves price as the logical deciding factor. looking at the various plans, though, with their fairly widely varying rates, has me about ready to throw up my hands. Does anyone know of any coupons or deals that'd cut the price enuf to allow me to call a winner. Thanks!
Google web hosting coupons. Plenty of them floating around. I believe Hostgator has a coupon which allows you to host for $0.01 for the first month. Check out Hostingcoupons.org, retailmenot.com and other similar sites. Have you tried the Asmallorange tiny plan ? $25 for a year, 75MB space, 3GB bandwidth, unlimited domains. You could still cut it by 15% if you use coupons. Not a bad plan if you are planning to run a basic blog, with content at the heart of it, rather than photos or videos.

Everyone has given you the hostgator codes for the $0.01 which I used recently. I'm a fan of Dreamhost myself and have used them for over 3 years now with no problems.
You can try to search in Google with the keyword "hosting s*cks" like "hostgator s*cks" and you will know which one is the best that s*cks.. But if you'll ask me, i'll go for hostgator because base from my experience, I never had any probem with them. uptime is very awesome and price is very reasonable.
well, thanks all. i went with lunarpages and so far it's vvvery slow to load pages for me. plus they had a kind of slow down or outage yesterday that wasn't announced in 'check network.' couldn't open anything. i eventually found out about it thru support but only after pulling my hair out for a good long time thinking the fault was mine. not encouraging.

Hostgator is the best, it's cheap and they are very friendly and quick! Their plans also offer some great things although I don't like it that they don't allow upload scripts... Regards.
Bluehost is the best man. It gives you the most bang for buck out there than any host...check it out and see for yourself... its only $6.95/month
