How is My Traffic - First Week Blogging

I have experimented with a few blogs in the past, and lost interested because I chose a niche based on money rather than something I was interested in, so I decided to give blogging another shot.

Anyways, I installed Google Analytics last week, and according to the stats, I am averaging about 100 unique hits per day, one day I had over 350 uniques.

Most of my traffic is from referring sites such as Digg, Reddit, and some forums related to my niche, and now I am finally getting SE hits.

Are these stats good for my first week, or should I be shooting for higher numbers?

Yeah, blogging about something you don't like all day is not my idea of fun. If you like the subject, you're content will be better and you'll get better results because of that.

For the first week? I hardly believe but oh well , its for sure one great archivement , as for me at least ...
Ive started getting such traffic only after month of my site existence , so you are definetely doing much better than me...

 

That is what I was trying to get at. It's easy enough to get blind traffic but is it quality?

 

Traffic coming from sites like StumbleUpon and Digg are usually not good quality. Bloggers should focus more on creating good content, rather than promotion on the first weeks.If so many people visit your site through Stumble/Digg during the first weeks and they see that there are only a few articles, they may not come again. First impression is important, and content is the king

Yup i guess passion in the writing and your intentions matter. If you do that the universe kind of get attracted to you.

 

Thanks for the tips, according to Analytics, the average visit time is 2:26 so it looks like they are just reading the article and leaving?

 

100 UV a day is pretty good for your first week. In terms of SEO and general traffic building posting on large video game forums is a really good method. Good luck with the site .

This is great to get traffic one one week for me at least one month to get 100 visitor a day!
