There is nothing broken about the sites he listed. It is a great way to get indexed, not sure if the links put out much link juice though. Free back links to pages google indexs can't be a bad thing.

Any backlink is good for a website , and from such big sites like this its definetely helpful.
Eventhough my site is getting crawled by google everyday im still trying to get as much more as possible backlinks =)

 

Well,
I know it might sounds ridiculous, and most using nofollow but there is 1 fact that it worked at least from spiders point of view.

What I mean is, when you add links on those pages - like my partner did, he said he got spider visits continually, like 3000 visits in no time.

But, another fact it that those are not directories, that's like index websites - nothing like directories

Amenda is right. Why are you laughing? Have you got the point what he actually going to say? You said that the list of the links give backlink to our site...ok and help us for quick index. Is not? Now go the your first url

When no live link there, how Google or other search engines will index your site from that page and where you're getting the backlink. .
