Are you man or woman? What is your targeted audience - male or females?

Do you know that according to recent research

    • in 85% of US families, women control the household’s financial matters.
    • There are 10 million more women online than men

It is much harder to sell to women because they will spend a long time making a purchasing decision but marketing to women is more cost effective because they are loyal customers.

    What do you think?

I'm a woman and I target both gender..
I think most women love traveling to spend vacation, so I guess it wouldn't quite difficult to entice them to travel.

I have a really hard time believing percentage wise women are online more than men. First of all you don't cite a source with any of those numbers, and surveys in general like this tend to be terrible. Even if it is true you have to consider that many internet users are just online so they can get to their free email account, and don't know anything of the rest of the internet.

I target both men and women, but I usually work with men. It just happens that way.

I don't really care, as long as I get paid ;-)

My target audience is everyone as well. However there are many niches that do considerably better when targetted to a specific sex.

I think what you state as fact is incorrect as I have found on many reliable sources men are the dominannt online user. e.g.

"The online world is still a predominately male environment. About 61% of the users are male. However more and more women are coming online to balance this out. Just a couple of years ago the percentage of women users was only about 15%. Women now account for nearly 39% of the users in the US. The percentage of women users in the US is nearly double that of Europe. Everywhere you look, the number of women users is on the rise."

It is also common knowledge women use the internet less frequently than men.

This leaves me to question your other facts.I do believe women spend longer making purchase decisions though!

I target both male and female. Picking niches that target a certain sex can certainly be profitable, but personally I like to choose niches that include both sexes
