Does running a directory affects my PR ranking?

    Hi. I don't get it. I haven't done anything different for now except trying to modify it and make it more appealing. But recently my PR went down. I can't understand why, when my backlinks increase by like 30, and many people have been submitting their sites in our directory. So I was just wondering if having a large directory decrease PR or Not, but I thought it supposed to help it.

    There are many sites who's pr was lowered at the last pr update it's not something
    that's only happens to directories.

    Hhhm. i don't think so. all the websites listed in my directory are legit. and i have over 1100 sites so all of them can't be bad!

    You might want to read this, these are one of the directory scripts and they say that they've pulled their product because it's shown that it has been targeted by google and will harm your page rank

    Wow, I just read that right now, and it seems just have a point. our directory has been growing pretty well, so it kinda sucks to hear this. but we will continue running our directory, and see how it does.
