Software for Logo design

    I want to design logo and banners for my site. I am looking for good free softwares available in the market. Please post your suggestions.

    Pencil & Paper + The Inkscape (I think, haven't used it before)

    Adobe Illustrator is best though, get an old copy cheap off eBay

    For Banners etc use GIMP or Photoshop if you can find a cheap older version on eBay

    Your best bet is fireworks or photoshop, if you can get hold of either of these somehow then your golden!

    In response to FF130: Don't get Fireworks. Photoshop provides more effects, filters, and overall flexibility in your images. Why settle for Fireworks when you can get a 100x better product for a few bucks more?

    The best software when logo designing comes to mind is Adobe Illustrator.
