WTB: Help me upgrade WP 2.1.1 to 2.6.2

    Hi,

    I recently had a fraudster create a backdoor and use my site for phishing :eek: I was able to delete the files (as I have cpanel access), but the person just keeps returning.

    I think that the genesis of this problem is that I was using WP 2.1.1. I have fantistico, and tried using the upgrade feature.

    But, when I open fantistico, is gives me the error message:
    Warning: fopen(/home/sold/.fantasticodata/soholaunch.cache) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1223877899.7088N5ojB0dGn7 on line 446

    When I ignore that message and try to upgrade, I get the message:
    Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1223877933.7264d6P3iMb4R1 on line 1367

    And the upgrade does not happen. If someone has seen this before, I would love it if you could help me upgrade.

    Let me know what fee you would like for this.

    Do the upgrade manually :)
    Don't use Fantastico to do it!

    I don't think using upgrade plugin will destroy your existing post. The plug in will also ask you to back up the database also. Just follow each step carefully.

    Yes, the automatic upgrade plugin will not do any harm to your existing posts, it will just update the script from the older version to the latest version (up to 2.6.1). :)

    I had to terminate my entire account, and am currently rebuilding the old posts using the Google cache :eek: The hacker went too far inside and corrupted many files!
