First right click on the folder and select 'Properties' at the end of menu. Then check box Attributes to 'Hidden' at the end in properties option.

Make sure that in folder and search options (Folder options -> View -> Advanced settings -> check box 'Do not show hidden files and folders' option.

    DON.

Beside the method above, you can use Lock Folder XP to hide your folder securely. The software can be use in Vista although XP is in the name of that software.

Usually if there's something sensitive in the folder, I will encrypt it using Winzip or Winrar and get it password protected.

To protect folders you need software like folderlock or you can use zip with a password

it's one of the safest as it users AE256 encryption to encrypt the files also in case if someone's has your zip password

I would use my own encryption methods instead of relying on someother softwares which is not safe..

Just because they can doesn't mean they will.

If I put a secret folder in /system32/drivers/ and hid it, would you ever find it? Even if it was hidden in My Documents, what reason would you have for displaying hidden files?

Try Folder Castle. A good software to protect your files and folders. Can hide and encrypt.
