So what is it like being a mod on DP forums? When you're managing a forum of this size, I'm guessing moderators have to go on every day, close threads and respond to nooby questions like these . And while I'm on the topic - I wonder how the moderators for DP were chosen in the first place back a couple of years ago? The forum is so big I don't even know who the mods are (except wisdomtool).
It takes the following: 18 Packets of Cream Filled Biscuits 25 Cartons of Mountain Dew 2 Kegs of Beer 18 Rump Roasts 1 TB per second internet connection Typing speed of 75 wpm 58 Prime Goats Approx US$150,000 in Paypal Muster up all these and I am sure you can be a mod
Probably 1.) An unbiased attitude 2.) Non controversial. 3.) Regular on the forums- not so much in terms of posting, but you need to be online at least.
I have above all with me Hope they consider me as a candidate for this position (mod) I think they have their own criteria for selecting Mod DON.
Everything is almost FINE but your avtar It's freaking scary and worrying. What exactly it is .. A wicked nose? @ VTTE Go through all past threads and posts of Mods and see what they did and what they didn't do. (Kind of Modology research )
If you join this forum with an expectation of becoming a mod, then you have slim chances of becoming one. You have to be a dedicated member out to help others, be an active member over a period of time, accumulate the important green blobs, ready to sacrifice your own time for the welfare of the dp and last but not the least, a non controversial person.
When I joined this forum I didn't even know what a Mod was. And I this was one of the first forums I've ever joined.
You have a very slim chance of becoming a moderator. Why? You have 300 posts, less than 100 rep points. Look at most of the mods - thousands of posts, and loads of rep.
