Hi Guys, Need your guidance. I have more than 20K subscribed users. All are ethical and registered users from my blogs. Now I am planning to do email marketing to promote some of my products. Can any one guide me on How to plan and do successful Bulk Email Marketing? If you have used any helpful softwares, scripts, bulk email server providers then please let me know. Please note - I am aware of Awaber and Getresponse, but there per account I can only send 10K emails. My list is big and growing day by day, so I am looking for some solid customized solution. Please guide.
I always stay away from bulk emailing. I got into some serious trouble a few years back and now i no longer send bulk emails.
Talker...why you face problems? Any unethical ways you used? In my case it's ethical and all are registered users. I just don't know how to do it neatly. I am sure some one experienced in this area will share their thoughts. JP
The most important question to start with is if it's all CAN SPAM compilant (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/canspam.shtm) and if it's all double opt-in, the rest is just technical questions and you have the ethical and especially legal part covered.
If they've opted in and you provide a way to opt out you won't get into any trouble. With a potential 20K customers, the OP would be stupid not to send out some bulk mailing.
This thread could help me too. I may find answers to unknown questions In my case last time i emailed, i did not put a opt out link which i think may have been considered as spam email. What do you say?
Unless it is subscribe base, it would be considered spam, the rss feed syndication is good way to get subscribers especially if you produce great content.
StarkReality...thanks for your comments and link of CAN SPAM compliant. For everyone's help just check... Quick summary on Law Requires to send out Commercial Emailers. 1> It bans false or misleading header information. 2> It prohibits deceptive subject lines. 3> It requires that your email give recipients an opt-out method. 4> It requires that commercial email be identified as an advertisement and include the sender's valid physical postal address. Can anyone guide on technical aspects involved in if you want to send emails to large permission based email list? e.g. How to get rid of IP black listing / blocking etc...
I have more than 20K subscribed users. Are you sure they are your subscribed users? (As I know DP forum subscribed user is under 1000, Can anyone confirm ?) That is a huge amount . You can send them subscribe directly with your post/articles that are really promotion ads.
better send it from your own home, never give your list to companies/websites like aweber. send it from your home using any smtp server that you have elsewhere. you can use an mass mailer, there are so many choices. just make sure that your mail service provider won't ban you for spamming reasons. if you need more info, PM me.
Hi Jpsense, I'd like to suggest you that have a look the: trafficwave.com, because if I'm not mistaken they didn't limits bulk emails, if those are double opt-ins. Cheers, Sandor (not affiliated with) Sorry Jpsense! The correct address is: trafficwave.net (I was in a hurry)
SandorVerebi is correct about trafficwave.net not limiting emails, but ... the system is based on double opt-in so if these are not actual subscribers you will find yourself running in to trouble as a result of spam complaints. TrafficWave.net does not place limits or raise fees for larger lists.
if you know any scripting languages you can make a script yourself to do it, if not you can download a script its way safer then letting some of those mass email submitter companies do it for you, since most wouldn't care if you get in trouble
* Your subscribers must be double opt-in ones. Get their ip address, date and time of subscription. (Don't buy email lists though they tell you they are double opt-ins) * Keep in constant contact with your list. This way they would remember you. (If you email once in a bluemoon and they suddenly sees your email in their inbox, they think you are spamming. People tend to forget their subscriptions.) * Use unsubscribe link in every out-going email. You subscribe yourself to your list and test it once in a while. * Deal with bounces: Delete them. This will save your bandwidth and your mail server resources. * Once in a while check your ip in spam databases. If listed, you can request to remove it. * Use SPF record for your domain. It denotes the sender domain for your emails. * Optimize your email headers with correct From, To , sending domain etc. Free email providers like hotmail will check these heders in detail to determine whether email is originating from the said domain. * Like you said above, don't try to misdirect your subscribers. Just few tips ... .
