    The reason the majority of people show support for these directory owners was and is because of the submissions they were receiving and would hope to receive again
    If top means spend a lot of money then they were top
    Top in terms of anything else they were not
    As I said before I benefitted with submissions from some of the same directory owners but I came to learn that trying to make money from your directory on DP is a waste of time in the long run.
    You run the risk of your directory being penalised for posts trying to push for submission sales and the time you will spend trying to chase sales here and there is better spent actually on your directory.
    The majority of directory owners still pushing their sites on here obviously didn't learn anything since Sept 07 (or they have nothing to lose with dropped domains etc)

    Very well said Discover. Some people just miss the days when new phpLD directory meant $500 in submissions from these directory owners. They were probably too generous with their big budgets.

    My guess is that if you want to see your directory get some type of penalty from Google and other major search engines this forum is the right place to accomplish that goal.

    Look around and see what I mean.

    I am around as well. Had a problem with my password for a couple of months. Finally got that fixed today. Admins were not very helpful. :rolleyes:
