Hey guys, my friend just put together this site www.echodemic.com Its a blogging platform where blog posts can be read and ranked (they call the ranks "echos")....the blog posts with the most echos (ranks) are put on the front page of the site. Im thinking it could be worth posting my blog posts from my personal blog on echodemic because, if the rank high, they could drive good traffic back to my persona blog. thoughts?
It looks really good. One thing that you'll want to change is unique page titles for every page. The category pages currently get all the same title. It would also be better if these were all search engine friendly urls. I would recommend adding subcategories for each category too.
i like the design its nice and simple. but in IE6 the right column overlaps some of the main content area i would see if you could fix that.
Thanks for the input....I realize taht all of the category pages do have the "popular post-echodemic"....And I hadn't noticed that before. Also will make search engine friendly urls... He is working on the subcategories as I type this.
i like the way u put ur own spin of echoing on the idea. looks pretty good. and im sure if some1 posts they will get their mates to echo their post and drive more traffic.
Ya, there are other sites out there similar to echodemic like blog engage or spihn....any other "social blogging" sites like this that you guys use?
And too clean in what way? I have heard people say they like to make their sites more confusing so that users will more than likely click on an ad to try and get the answers that they want, but this seems to be more of a social utility.
I agree with vansterdam. SEO is king. Make the changes he suggested (which probably means other changes need to be made that we can't see), and you've got a winner! Makes digg and Mixx look old. I'm doing reviews because I need a logo and have to meet the 25 post requirement to post to that thread. One of the blogs I reviewed was on SEO and was one of the best and most useful I've ever seen for quick and effective SEO. I even bookmarked it. I can't post URL's yet but it's called SiteNoob. You can figure out what goes after the . Great looking site, listen to vansterdam, and check out that site (which I NEVER saw or heard of before tonight!!!!!!!!!!!) Good luck! Sincerely, Mr. Unloadingzone.
What would make it more attractive? I think thats pretty much objective, but if you have any secrets, let us know!
